"Taste the steel of my silver blade," Lacy said, pounding her game controller's buttons.

"Stop talking," Gary shouted over the headset, "you're giving away our position.

"You think you're man enough," Lacy ignored her teammate, "my boyfriend will come kick your ass in person."

"Matt," Gary growled, "make your woman shut the hell up."

Continuing to bait their competition, Lacy seemed oblivious to the repeated deaths of her comrades who fell not once, not twice, but nine times. Gary had finally had enough.

Exhaling slowly, Gary placed his controller on the desk along with his headset. He then reached into the back of his closet and pulled out a dusty lockbox and its contents. Heading down to the apartment below him, he knocked on the door. Matt opened the door.

"Why aren't you playing?" Matt asked with a puzzled face.

"Excuse me for one minute," Gary said, stepping past Matt into the apartment.

Walking to the back room, Gary raised the silver pistol in his hand and pulled the trigger. Lacy gasped in surprise as the bullet entered her chest.

"Taste the steel of my silver blade," Gary said calmly.

Gary nodded to a frantic Matt as he left the apartment and returned to his own. Sitting in his game chair, he put on his headset, grabbed his controller, and continued playing with a smile.
